Delivery & Transportation


Managing the coordination and timely delivery of four seasons of annuals, accents and winter greenery is expertly handled by our Transportation & Delivery Team, out of our Northbrook, Il facility, and under the leadership of Troy Clesen (R), the fourth generation in our family-owned business.

At Clesen Wholesale we are fortunate to manage a Transportation Team with 5x the average tenure of professional truck drivers, including three drivers who have been with Clesen for over 15 years! Our drivers know our customers & their delivery preferences, and our customers know them. 



LIVE PLANT DISTRIBUTION AREA:

We deliver to the city of Chicago, south, west & northern suburbs, west to Rockford, IL area, and north to Madison & Milwaukee, WI markets. With these defined delivery zones, we can ensure that our live plants are delivered within one business day.

NON-PERISHABLE DISTRIBUTION AREAS:

For non-perishable deliveries, including Seasonal Accents and our extensive Winter greenery and accents we use third party carriers and offer delivery to the lower 48 states dependent upon meeting order size minimums.



With three growing locations, our customer orders are efficiently consolidated at our Northbrook facility and loaded onto a diverse assortment of fleet vehicles, from semis and box trucks to vans and even Sprinters – choosing the optimal vehicle to accommodate the size of customer orders and delivery locations.
 


Clesen Wholesale utilizes route optimization software to ensure timely deliveries to our customers. Additionally, all our fleet vehicles are subject to daily inspection of brakes, steering mechanism, lights, tires, horn, wipers, mirrors, and emergency equipment.

ON-SITE PICK-UPS AT NORTHBROOK:

Our customers are welcome to pick up their orders at our Northbrook Transportation facility, from March through December 7:00am – 3pm Monday – Friday. During peak months of April, May, June, November, and December we are open for Saturday pick-ups from 7:00am – 11:am for our customer’s convenience.

DELIVERY NOTIFICATIONS:

We currently send two delivery notifications, one the day before our customers’ scheduled delivery, to remind them we will be arriving the following day.  On the delivery date, we will send a second delivery notification, via text or email, (based on customer preference) notifying our customer of the name of the driver and our anticipated two-hour arrival window, as well as a live link to track the driver’s progress on his route.
